Comcast/Xfinity now offers gigabit home internet for many metropolitan cities and expanding daily. Recently, I switched to their new Gigabit home internet and finally upgraded to gigabit download speeds. Advertised speeds are 1000Mbps down and 35Mbps up. Wifi will be much slower since your wireless technology still can't realistically go up above around 300-400Mbps. To take advantage, you will most likely need to hook up your devices via ethernet to get the full gigabit download speeds. I recommend Google WiFi mesh, check out my review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPA4ypbHCcI ------------------------------------------ Join our #HighOnAndroid Telegram: http://hoalove.com/highona Follow me on my social accts: http://Twitter.com/zedomax https://plus.google.com/+MaxLee https://www.facebook.com/howtoblog http://instagram.com/reallyhighonandroid Stay #HighOnAndroid T-shirts here: http://www.cafepress.com/highonandroid *****My Other YouTube Channels***** My Korean channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/c/highonandroidkorean My HighOnCamera channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzexQIzfx4gXEJzNartGWkw My HighOnDrone channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3zP6iGgi06Xf-89TjzBqJg My HighOnCoins channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/user/HighOnCoins My daughter Peony's channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/user/thedogatetheshoe My dog Bowie's channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeCkzgxc5J_Q1YGp1o8GloQ

My Xfinity internet modem/router was pretty out-of-date, so I decided to drop by the local store and swap it out for a newer model to see if I could up my wifi speed. Read our full review on Xfinity internet at https://www.reviews.org/internet-service/comcast-xfinity-internet-review/?kbid=123489 The old one was doing okay, but I was curious if the newer equipment would do any better. Needless to say, I was happy with the result. Comcast vs Verizon Internet Speed Test, Verizon's 150 Mbps /150Mbps is not was they say it is..... I'm not happy at all...
Testing my connection speeds using Xfinity Gigabit Internet from Comcast. Network Setup: ------------------------- Modem: Netgear CM1000 with firmware 3.01.04 Router: Apple AirPort Extreme AC with firmware 7.7.9 Cables: Homemade Category 5e UTP for Ethernet, and homemade RG-6 quad with compression couplings for RF connection Test Computer: Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017) with 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB LPDDR3, and Samsung NVMe SSD running Mac OS X 10.13.1 Connection: Thunderbolt GigE connection to LAN port on router Showing my IPv4 NAT speeds to various speed test sites on, and off my ISP's network. My LAN was a bit chatty during this test as there were two live TV streams on PS Vue running over wireless while I was testing. I'm located in Dover, New Hampshire and this is an RF connection, not fiber. RF health was shown toward the end of the screen recording due to me recently overhauling my interior wiring, and it being about -2 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I pay a very modest $104.95/month for this connection a la carte, and I am always impressed with the performance :-) If you're in a Comcast area I highly recommend this service to any enthusiast with high-capacity needs!
Hey guys, as you may not know, I've been wanting to do an Internet Speed Test with two ("Yes TWO") of Houston's Fastest Internet Service Providers Xfinity and AT&T. As some of you guys may or may not know about them, they have a down side between them. Let's talk about AT&T's DSL/VDSL, With AT&T U-verse you get a dedicated line straight to the fiber optic cabinet! So what that means, is that you have your very own direct connection to AT&T! There's is NO SHARING with neighbors! So the closer you are to the fiber cabin, the faster your Internet connection is. The further you are from the fiber cabin, the slower your Internet connection will be. It's just like WiFi, the closer you are to the WiFi Router the faster your wifi internet connection is, the further you are from the WiFi Router the slower your wifi Speed will be. It's that simple. So No matter what speed you signed up for, as long you either live close or far away from the fiber cabin, your speed will be affected. Xfinity on the other hand, they use coaxial truck cables. Which they get fed to amplifiers then splitters. Thus get split and shared among with your fellow neighbors. But that's just the beginning of the connection between you and Xfinity. Xfinity also has a fiber optic "cabin" which they like to call it "The Fiber Node", this is where huge coaxial cables connect from Node to amplifiers then splitters and even more splitters and finally to your home. So you don't have a dedicated direct line to the Node. As for coaxial cables, they are limited to distance, basically meaning that you can't connect your modem with more than 100 feet of cable, or you will have a very slow speed or no internet access at all. It's the same with AT&T U-verse VDSL. It's better to connect your modem with very short cables and connect it as close to the outlet as possible. Where I live "apartments" very few have Xfinity Internet, and who knows what speed they signed up for, or if they are using a lot of their broadband internet. Or if they are using a lot of broadband, I haven't experienced a slow connection at all!!! All thanks to Comcast Xfinity's DOCSIS 3.0 unlike the old DOCSIS 2.0 "One Upload Channel and One Download Channel", DOCSIS 3.0 give you Two or More Channels. Allowing a user to experience a Maximum Upload and Download speeds way much faster than before, no matter how many people are using the broadband connection. So imagine you and your buddy watching a sports channel, one of your older children watching the news channel, your wife watching the weather channel, a family relatives watching a movie, and your kids watching their favorite shows, ALL IN ONE TV!!! That's what's going on inside the cable modem, a lot of traffic switching and directed between channels. So this is why my Speed Test between AT&T and Xfinity are way different from each other. This is True Proof of how fast Xfinity really is. Sorry for the LONG Explanation So what do you guys think? Comment your thoughts about this video! And again, Thanks for Watching.

This video will show you how strong the wifi signal is on the new 1GB modem from Comcast. I compare the wifi strength from the new 1GB download modem to the previous version that only downloads at 250mbps. If you're a big wifi user, you should watch the video in it's entirety. Thank you for your support. Jimmy Moonshine loves ya! How to tell if your 1gb modem is running up to speed.
