Construction Law Webinar Series - Introduction to NEC contracts and principles

Construction Law Webinar Series - Introduction to NEC contracts and principles

NEC3 has become an increasingly familiar contract form in the construction industry and is being increasingly used by contracting parties for all types of construction projects. The NEC3 suite of contracts was updated in June 2017 to become NEC4. Whilst this is an evolution of the NEC series, and many of the unique features of NEC contracts have been retained, important changes have been made which contract users need to be aware of. This webinar series will give participants an understanding of the updated NEC4 form of contract. Our speakers will consider the background and philosophy of the NEC form; the key changes found in NEC4; and best practice and recent case law. The first webinar in this series will cover the development of the NEC contract and will recap the NEC principles and distinguishing features; comparing those to other standard form contracts.

Selecting the right NEC Contract main option, is not as straightforward as you might think. Ian Heaphy from Turner & Townsend explores common misconceptions with NEC3 that can lead to problems post contract and suggests so practical solution that NEC Contract users might wish to consider. This presentation was provided by Ian at the NEC People conference 2014; a free independent conference for NEC Contract users. www.turntown.co.uk www.builtintelligence.com/nec

What was once just a replacement for big black frisbees of sprially wavey soundy sounds has matured into a versatile, ubiquitous data storage solution. Would you look at that, progress on a disc! But that wasn’t all; many colors of books were published (neato, wouldn’t ya say?) and the disc went from a-thing-you-buy-with-stuff-on-it to a disc that you can put your VERY OWN stuff on it! Labour in Power - Manchester and Trafford Momentum

Labour in Power - Manchester and Trafford Momentum

A topical discussion hosted by Manchester and Trafford Momentum. Panel includes: Paul Mason, Lauren Stocks, Max Shanly and Selina Todd. Hosted by Aaron Bastani --- http://support.novaramedia.com The UK is facing an economic crisis, falling living standards, a climate crisis, the rise of the far-right. More than ever, we need a resilient Left. This means we need a strong Left media, capable of thinking honestly about the issues facing us, tackling these issues head-on, as well as reaching out to those who aren’t yet on side. Our wide range of output – from listicles to essays, from punchy videos to in-depth discussions – does exactly that. But all this costs money: studio rent, equipment, contributor fees and digital infrastructure. We do a lot with a little, but we can’t do anything with nothing. We won’t charge for content or cash in on sponsorship deals with Pepsi. We don’t have private fortunes, or state backers, or big capital behind us – we just have you. Not everyone can afford to give – but if you enjoy our work, and you believe in what we’re doing, maybe you could forego a couple of your preferred beverages this month and lend us a hand instead. In the longer term, growing our regular subscriber base will allow us to meet the future well-prepared – so if you can spare a few quid a month, why not sign up for a regular subscription? We’ve achieved so much already – but the truth is, we’ve barely begun. Be a part of the change. Help us build a new media for a different politics.
