I QUIT MY JOB: Why Did JJ leave 979 The Box Radio Station?

I QUIT MY JOB: Why Did JJ leave 979 The Box Radio Station?

Many of you may not know that I've been in radio for 24 years, since the age of 16. I've worked for Radio One Inc. almost 17 of those years. It has been an honor to work for a company that values serving the community, and it is a value that I share deeply. My purpose in life has always been to serve. Whether serving young girls as the founder of JJ's I'm Me Foundation, serving women through my book Without Bruises, or serving Single Moms through my website SingleMomsRock.com, I love to inspire and motivate young girls and women to be the best versions of themselves. The truth is, we can't do EVERYTHING. We certainly can't do everything and make it all GREAT. Something had to go. While walking away from a team of people I have grown to love is not so easy, it is now timely and necessary for me to fully live out my purpose. It's time to step out on faith and to prioritize and pursue the plan God has clearly spoken to me. I am particularly grateful to the Mad Hatta Morning Show for welcoming my voice and input on their show for almost nine months. It was really fun to bring my perspective to the show and be valued for my authenticity! Terri Thomas, I am so grateful for you and your big heart. Thank you for snatching me up from Indianapolis and bringing me to the city I now call home. You all have impacted my life in undeniable ways and I am so appreciative of the time I was able to share with you. Nelson Mandela once said, "Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely day dreaming, but vision with action can change the world." I'm off to change the world now. Thank you for all of your support and love. Bun B, Eightball & MJG @ KBXX The Box in Houston (Rap City 1999) (Part 2 of 2)

Bun B, Eightball & MJG @ KBXX The Box in Houston (Rap City 1999) (Part 2 of 2)

Bun B breaks down and explains Screwed Music & it's inventer DJ Screw for Joe Clair. Bun also explains tapping & chopping records. Notice they say that if it's not made my DJ Screw it can't be called Screw Tapes. Instead they are just called "Slowed Down Tapes" and DJ Michael "5000" Watts & DJ Bone are mentioned. And yes, Screw was still alive at this time. Everyone explains the difference between Houston mixtapes & traditional East Coast blend tapes/ mixtapes. MJG & Eightball explain what made them move to Houston from Memphis and what influence the town has had on them. DJ Mean Green also explains the H-Town club scene and all of the famous people like Master P & Nick Van Exel who had houses in Houston. My bad I don't have the last part of this show because I didn't record for some reason that I can't remember.
