How to diagnose your electrical faults of your car?
LAUREN'S MANIFESTO: 1.More top quality events targeted towards all courses, such as setting up monthly "networking" and "showcase" events to promote interdepartmental relationships! Involving more Theatre Designers, Stage Management, Composers and CMT in the event planning. 2.Even more support for societies, by regularly posting society news on the SU website, facebook, and twitter. 3.Campaign to keep things affordable in the college. Such as events (like summer ball), canteen food, and a printer allowance that is updated each term versus simply in first year. 4.Speaking of printers... I will push for the SU to get colour printers in the computer rooms, as well as printers for the Macs in the library. 5.Create an easily approachable environment by making sure that the SU is held accountable by publishing minutes from each meeting on the new SU website. This will ensure that the SU can be trusted as a reliable channel between staff and students, and so you can be assured that your concerns are being addressed. 6.Will campaign for a higher student priority on all venues, studios, rehearsal spaces and practice rooms. 7.Freshers: I will be setting up social network groups for the incoming year, so that people can get to know each other before even moving into Severn Point, and I will also seek to post as much information on the SU Website so that you will be prepared for what to expect upon arrival in the college, rather than simply waiting for a welcome packet. 8.Internationals: More support catered towards helping you to get the most of your time in college and the UK. This should include a tour of Cardiff during Freshers Week, as well as regular day trips to exciting sites nearby. 9.Postgraduates: I will be sure to organise events and societies that are also specifically geared towards you (whether it is wine and cheese parties, film nights, day trips, etc.). I know that the late nights can be hard on your schedules, so I plan to organise several events to be set during the afternoon instead. 10.Graduates: Prepare all students for graduation by campaigning to bring more job fairs and career advisors to the college. 11.Maintain the good relationship our college has with University of Glamorgan, and make it more clear on the SU websites as to what benefits this relationship allows you. 12.Keep my door open and listen to your feedback and advice. I want what the SU does to come straight from you! https://www.facebook.com/events/520243001376179/ ABOUT LAUREN: For those of you who don't know me, my name is Lauren and I am a 4th year pianist, as well as an international student hailing from the USA! You might recognise me as the current SU representative for the International Students! During my time in the SU, I have planned events, attended Senior Management Meetings, ran the Quiz, worked with societies, and kept track of student welfare. In fact, it was actually my idea to set up the welfare board which now stands across from the Student Union Office. :-) I have always stood up for my fellow students and issues that they have raised, and when attending meetings, I made it clear that I would not be intimidated about getting those concerns addressed. I am a strong and organised leader, but most of all, I love a good challenge, so you can rest assured that anything that you bring to me WILL be resolved to the highest of my capabilities. HOW TO VOTE: You will receive an email from college on Wednesday, May 22nd with the names of all of the candidates and the roles which they are running for. All you need to do is reply to the email and DELETE the names of the candidates which you are NOT voting for (so that only your choice for candidate remains). Then send the email back to Brian in the Student Union. You will have until Friday afternoon, May 24th, to reply to the email!!!! Thanks so much for watching! And remember: Vote for Lauren! ;-)
