In this Sweet Feed, Chris finishes up a morning of late season doe hunting, and talks about the management strategy for the doe harvests on the particular property he's managing. Different properties might benefit from different doe harvest strategies, and for this property, the focus is on making the biggest long-term impact as possible per doe killed.
http://RoeHuntingResources.com cuts through the hype and misconceptions surrounding two of the most popular "Head Chopper" style broadheads used for turkey hunting on the market today, the Magnus Bullhead and the Diamond Edition Gobbler Guillotine. Covering everything from paper-tuning field tips to the Customer Service support of the manufacturers, the 66-minute video covers everything a hunter needs to know and/or evaluate when deciding to purchase, and shoot, these types of turkey broadheads. While much has been written about the Magnus Bullhead and the ORIGINAL Gobbler Guillotine, comparisons of those heads are comparing "apples to oranges" because the Original Gobbler Guillotine is old technology. Magnus improved upon the original technology when they developed and introduced their Bullhead, but so did Arrowdynamic Solutions, the makers of the Original Gobbler Guillotine, when they introduced their Diamond Edition Gobbler Guillotine. Roe Hunting Resources offers a true "apples to apples" objective comparison between the two heads and the latest technology. Designed to give the viewer a complete picture of what a hunter needs to do before attempting to shoot a "Head Chopper" style broadhead, and what to expect when shooting either of the heads -- both at the archery range and in the field. This video is not an advertisement for either broadhead; the viewer is left to make up their own mind as to which head is right for them. Released essentially as the "Part One" of a two-part complete evaluation, this video stops just short of taking you into the field on actual turkey hunts where the heads are tested, and the results of the customer service calls and interactions of both manufacturers. These will be the topics of the follow-up "Part Two" RHR UNBIASED Head-2-Head comparison to be released in 2013 after extensive use of the two heads out in the field under ACTUAL hunting conditions. ll your hard work finally paid off and you have an elk down, but what's the best way to efficiently get it back to your truck? As we became elk hunters we struggled with this process. There was little information covering the entire process and especially on how to place the meat and antlers into your pack. As time passed we soon developed a solid method shared by many hunters here out West. We decided to create a film that was a showcase to the entire process from the hunt, to quartering, and finally the pack out. Like many things, this is only one of many ways to do this process. If you feel that you have a better method we would love to hear about it in the comments. The goal here is to educate and hope that more hunters have a good experience after their tags are filled come fall. SUBSCRIBE for updates on film releases! THROUGH THE SEASONS - Episode #3 "Proper Prior Preparation" Want to go after a MATURE tom this spring? Going to have to deal with other hunters wherever you're going? In this episode, Chris takes you along on one of his 2011 New Mexico Merriam's turkey hunts, and shares a number of tips on how to better locate mountain gobblers, choose the right bird to set up on (again, if you're looking for a mature tom and/or having to deal with other hunters), and why you shouldn't get too impatient if things - INITIALLY - go wrong! ******************************************************* Join Roe Hunting Resources (http://roehuntingresources.com) as they hunt "Through the Seasons!" Professional deerstalker Chris Howard says that a natural predator of deer no longer exists so it is up to man to manage the population as he takes the Telegraph on a hunt [Warning: Contains graphic content] Despite claims of cruelty, supporters say that stalking, which involves tracking the animal through the countryside on foot before shooting it, is one of the best ways of controlling wild deer. Britain's deer population has doubled to more than 1.4 million in the past 25 years. Professional deerstalker Chris Howard, said other than man, carnivorous predators of adult deer have long been hunted to extinction in Britain, so it is up to man to manage the population. In most cases the objective is to maintain a stable and healthy population of deer and to achieve this will require a cull of about 30 per cent of the population each year. "If deer are managed properly, it is a it is sustainable, natural, drug free product," he said. "But they have got to be managed in a way that that fit in with the rest of the environment."
