NEW!! Axial Yeti Kit Version - Unboxed!

NEW!! Axial Yeti Kit Version - Unboxed!

Here's a fresh unboxing of the brand new Axial Yeti Kit Version. Although no electronics or painted to go body are included, this builders kit includes many welcomed upgrades that the RTR screamed for! In this unboxing, I show all the differences between the RTR parts (yep, had those on hand) and the included upgrades in the kit. I also show off the not-so-smelly Falken Wildpeak tires debuted on this kit. So, let get building! Check out The RCNetwork on Facebook for tons of detailed photos of this kit and many other projects! https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-RCNetwork/473999849329994 Here's where I got it and some info from Axial Racing: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXESCH&P=ML http://www.axialracing.com/products/ax90025 Now in kit form, the Yeti™ is a skillfully engineered rock racing vehicle with a solid rear axle and independent front suspension. Its distinct aesthetic and technical elements were inspired by full-size desert trucks. Its strategically engineered design supplies bashing stamina while delivering a high level of technical rock racing abilities without compromise in either category. This kit version will accept standard 1/10th scale brushed and brushless 4-pole systems and most major stick pack batteries. Precision machined aluminum shocks are standard equipment and deliver smooth suspension movement for consistent handling. The WildPeak All Terrain tire has amazing traction on many surfaces, even with its rather conservative pattern. This fact alone has had the entire industry on the edge of their seats waiting to see what the Falken rubber will be able to do with a more aggressive pattern. The WildPeak M/T version of this tire is here, albeit in a prototype stage. These prototypes are already being put through their paces by the who's who of the off road world. With tremendous success in competitive rock racing, this tire is already in very high demand. The Axial S30 compound will offer the performance you have come to expect from Axial. Based off the Method MR101s these officially licensed wheels dressed in an aggressive all black style are easy to assemble and they work with most 2.2 tires. The hub design allows this wheel to mount to any Wraith™, AX10™ or SCX10™. Our IFD™ (Interchangeable Face Design) wheel system makes it easy to dress up with a new look.

AXIAL YETI SCORE KIT - Trophy Truck Builder's Kit

AXIAL YETI SCORE KIT - Trophy Truck Builder's Kit

I love building kits! Axial finally came out with the kit version of the extremely popular and successful Axial Yeti Score. In this video I am having a look at what comes in the box. The information below as copied from the Axial Racing website: Now in kit form, the Yeti™ SCORE® Trophy Truck® is a purposely engineered desert truck with a solid rear axle and independent front suspension. Make no bones about it, this is not a short course truck nor is it designed for the sugar coated and manicured racetracks of R/C. This Trophy Truck is designed for the roughest of conditions and REAL DIRT. We beg for the dirt and rocks to be brought back to off-road! There are reasons why full size Trophy Trucks feature the four link suspension design; durability, capability, and improved forward bite without sacrificing suspension travel. Full-size Trophy Trucks inspired the distinct aesthetic and technical elements of this truck, right down to the solid rear axle. The retro inspired body features design queues from a 1960’s era roof-line, classic 1970’s wheel arches and glass shapes from the 1980’s. Giving this kit an extra bit of modern contrast comes in the form of fluorescent orange Method 105 wheels. This kit version will accept standard 1/10th scale brushed and brushless 4-pole systems and most major stick pack batteries. Precision machined aluminum shocks are standard equipment and deliver smooth suspension movement for consistent handling. Axial Yeti KIT - FreqEsKinz Vinyl Wrap Upgrade

Axial Yeti KIT - FreqEsKinz Vinyl Wrap Upgrade

Freqeskinz combines high quality vinyl, cool cutting edge designs and merges it with what we all love, RC!!! I spent about 2 hours on http://www.freqeskinz.com/ trying to decide what I wanted to represent my Axial Yeti KIT version and the P-51 Mustang spoke to me! For a few bucks more, the crew at Freqeskinz was able to incorporate my "RCN" logo onto my masterpiece design too! Here's where I got it and some info from Freqeskinz: http://www.freqeskinz.com/ http://www.freqeskinz.com/axial-yeti-skinz/ Installation of the sKinz onto your body panels is a simple, straight forward process, however, having a few tips to make the job simple and turn out perfect can’t hurt right? I know, you’re thinking “But don’t I just peel and stick? How hard is that?” True, it IS that simple but the following info will make things easier and insure a great application. Tools Needed 1. X-Acto knife with fresh #11 blade (the standard blade most knives come with) 2. A quality heat gun. Hobby grade is fine. Hair dryers are NOT! 3. Body Scissors - Curved or Straight 4. Isopropyl Alcohol - For cleaning NOT drinking (Windex will do in a pinch)5. Soft lint-free Cloth 6. A flat work surface with cutting mat or protected surface below 7. Good lighting and if you’re me, good reading glasses Remember, you’ll need to paint your body on the inside with lexan body paint FIRST! Blacks and Whites are best for most designs. Ready? OK, here we go.. Step 1 - Lay out all the body panels so you know which is which. Its easy to get the sides mixed up. sKinz apply on the outside! Step 2 - Remove any stock decals. Clean all the body panels with alcohol. Dry with a lint free cloth. Step 3 - Grab your sheet of sKinz, locate the piece you want install. Also note that most pieces are cut with 1/16” extra around the edge to make it easier to apply. Peel each piece off and apply to the body panels. Start from the middle and work your way out to the edges. If you get any wrinkles, carefully peel them back slightly and continue on. DO NOT rub down any area that the sKinz wrinkle or start to crease. (This will happen sometimes on sharp compound corners) Just leave them for now, we’ll fix them in the next step. Step 4 - Heat em up! - This is where the magic starts. Remember those wrinkles? We’re gonna fix them.Locate your first wrinkle area and apply the heat from the gun for 1-3 seconds. Yes 1-3 is all you need. You’ll notice the area virtually lay flat now. OK. Now smooth it out (BE CAREFUL, It may be HOT!!!) and rub down well. Now just move on to the other areas. You can even stretch an area that is in need of a curve or a bit more coverage. TIP: Start in the middle and work you way to the edges. Once your satisfied, rub everything down firmly to adhere well and your ready to move on the next step. Step 5 - Trimming time! We’re going to be using sharp objects: SO BE CAREFUL! Trim the excess away from the edges by pulling the knife (laid almost 90 degrees with the panel) slowly towards you. You’ll find after the first couple that this will get easier to do. You just have to be careful to keep the knife turned enough to cut but not so much as to dig into the panel. Got it? Great, lets move on. Step 6 - IMPORTANT - Determine where you chassis screws are before you cut anything! Trim each hole in the body panels where the tie wraps and/or screws go. Just insert the knife through the hole and give it a quick spin around. Easy right? Great, almost done. Step 7 - Lets trim the screw holes around the heads of your 3mm screws in your sKinz. This will prevent the sKinz from wrinkling when you tighten the screws and wrinkles are bad! Just grab any 1” long or so 3mm button head screw and poke it through the hole from the sKinz side. Hold onto it from the rear to keep it tight against the sKinz. Place your knife vertical, against the edge of the screw and give the panel a twist to cut - LIGHTLY - around the head. DO NOT cut too deep! You will weaken the body panel! Got them all done? Swell. Step 8 - Mount ‘em up! Carefully re-apply all your body panels and stand back and admire your work. That wasn’t that hard was it? If you get stuck or need help, just email us or call. We’re always ready to help. Thank you for your purchase of FreqEsKinz... I truly appreciate your business!

AXIAL YETI ROCK RACER - 1/10th Scale Electric 4WD - RTR

AXIAL YETI ROCK RACER - 1/10th Scale Electric 4WD - RTR

An awesome designed rock racing vehicle with a solid rear axle and independent front suspension. This vehicle has obviously been designed to meet the punishment 4wd enthusiasts who follow desert racing would like to see in a rock racer themselves. Axial have got this one right with the extreme yet detailed styling. Easy to control due to the accurate steering from the independent front end and a huge fun package with the long travel alloy shocks set with a 4 link rear suspension and sway bar set. The brushless motor puts out heaps of kick, is water resistant and runs on 2 and 3 cell lipo batteries. All footage shown here was on 2 cell which is really all you probably need unless you want this thing to simply go crazy. Axial... we love the design ... especially the battery access with the complete shell hinging open for battery access. If you bought one of the earlier ones, axial have a new hub kit which we would suggest that you obtain from your reseller as the hubs have been know to chew out. We were aware of this and kept an eye on the wheel nuts, therefore we had no dramas. An awesome surprise as a RTR rock racer... one of our favourite vehicles for sure.
