How to replace an Impeller on Mercury 135 hp

Customer brought in a boat that was overheating, and upon opening we quickly noticed that the impeller and housing were completely melted. This is caused when the engine is fired up without a water supply. (dry rubber on metal creates friction, thus melting any plastic and rubber in the surrounding area) The impeller still rotates regardless if the engine is on neutral or in gear! An impeller should be replaced at least once a year, or more often if the boat isn't used.
